Parsi–Irani cafés have long been an integral part of Bombay’s cultural and culinary fabric. These establishments were defined not only by their cuisine, but by the environment they cultivated — informal, familiar, and deeply human. The host played a central role in shaping this experience, creating spaces built on routine, conversation, and continuity.

As Batliwala & Co. was established in Dubai, the intention was to introduce Parsi–Irani cuisine within its full cultural context. This required translating not only the food, but the presence and hospitality that historically defined it.

The solution was to embed that presence directly into the identity. This took form in Farood Batliwala — not as a mascot, but as a representation of the host figure intrinsic to Parsi–Irani café culture. His presence informs how the brand speaks, appears, and interacts. Through this approach, Batliwala & Co. extends the ethos of Bombay’s Parsi–Irani cafés into Dubai — preserving not only the cuisine, but the hospitality and cultural continuity that define it.
